Walter Wester a Santa Fe man who has served in the U S Navy the past two years returned to Barstow Tuesday He spent eleven months in the North Sea aboard the battleship Delaware and later served on the Rhode Island before discharge at Mare Island He married Adeline Smith September 29 1919 and plans to live in Barstow where he will resume his former position as car inspector once a vacancy opens on the repair track.

The Galrone expect the Gibson mill to arrive soon at the Paradise mine northeast of town and begin milling immediately. The old mill had only 60 percent ore recovery, while the Gibson plant promises about 98 percent. County Treasurer Williams, after seeing the mill in San Francisco, ordered it. About 75 feet of work has been completed since shutdown. dumps hold 800000 tons of ore to be remilled later, likely by cyaniding.
A troop train carrying 200 soldiers passed through Baretow Tuesday morning bound east where they will be discharged. Some had served in Siberia, others in the Philippines.
