Hinkley and Harper Lake schools held Thanksgiving events with field trips, shows, and a Learn by doing spirit. Students toured Hill's Jersey Dairy, saw milking, rode in a boat, enjoyed milk and apples, and returned home. Harper Lake hosted a medicine show with samples, songs, and a luncheon set by the Woman's Club. Bold daylight robbery at Tour's Garage yields cash and checks
Saturday a theft occurred at Tour's Garage when the cash till was opened and 145 dollars in checks and currency disappeared. Ed Burke was at lunch, Pete Ring secured the office, then left for his shoe shop. On return the till was open and 40 dollars in checks and currency remained. No suspects or traces found.
