Mr Dean of Western Equipment Co returns from Los Angeles with a standard oil rig for Calico Canyon Oil Co. Lumber for camp now being hauled. Mr Ellis Mallory arranges with Pacific Engineering Co to drill six or seven holes on his oil claims three miles south of Barstow for assessment work. Ellis calls the ground first class territory.
