Lubin Henderson opened with welcome speeches Major O P Sloat praised the invite and the herd security while the desert trip and Grand Canyon bull fight provided evening highlights followed by a banquet music and dancing until 2 a m and future entertainment plans with Ed wards.

Armistice Day observance closed business at 1 p m and drew many from Barstow and Desert regions to Yermo. A large outdoor program featured parade races speeches recitations and a dance with Daggett and Yerma students performing creditably under teachers. Grand marshal D D Connell led the day and organizers Tom Williams Bruce McCormick and others boosted the celebration to a strong successful finish.

A Barstow man, Samuel Elmer Rhynard, married Miss Mary Victoria Bush in Los Angeles at the Bush residence on November 10. Rev. Zahnizer officiated. High power line project moves forward in Bear Valley
The Finley Sweeney company of San Bernardino began work this week on a 33 000 volt transmission line between Gold Mountain and Pine Knot for Bear Valley Utility. The Bear Valley end substation will be built by Southern Sierras Power.
