The Barstow Woman's Club met at Mrs. Lloyd E Tiernan's home Tuesday afternoon with Mrs Chas Topping and Mrs Tiernan leading the program on Education. Leona Paxton principal spoke on Leisure Time and school roles, stressing healthy habits and the value of education for society. Five new members joined and twenty two members attended, with guests from Hinkley and Harper Lake.

Club Organizes and Elects Officers at Overton Home
A club met at Mrs. James Overton's home on Wednesday afternoon November 2. Officers elected: Mrs. Harry Akins president, Mrs. Harold Overby vice president, Mrs. James Overton secretary and treasurer. A shower for Mrs. Overton was held with attendees including Mrs. Harold Overby, Mrs. Wm. Redman, Mrs. L. G. Higgins, Mrs. Dave Decker, Mrs. Roy C. Canady, and Mrs. B. C. Stafford. Refreshments were served. The next meeting is set for Friday November 12 at Mrs. Harold Overby's home.

Editor Finn Needles Nuggett laid to rest
Abraham C. Fenn, editor of the Needles Nuggett for the past year, died at his Needles home on Friday October 28 1927. Funeral services were held at Inglewood cemetery chapel Monday October 31. Survived by widow Dollie E. Fenn and children Grace Charles Ruby Fred Lomax Myra. siblings in Idaho Chicago New Jersey. Fenn was well regarded for his kindness and self effacement.

Man Run Over by Freight Train Near Town
A man named Elden Orchard from Middleton Massachusetts, age about forty, was struck by a freight train while attempting to steal a ride west of town.
