Night Baseball League Opens Here Monday Night
The Desert League will start the season in Barstow next Monday night on the high school field. Six teams compete with games most nights, except Saturdays and Sundays, drawing fans from up to fifty miles. Teams include Produce, 20-30, American Legion from Barstow, and a Yermo and Hinkley squad. Schedule through June 15 lists daily pairings, all Barstow games except Wednesdays.

Robert McVicar died May 23 1931 at eighty six. he recited a Rob Burns poem the day before he died and was buried May 25 at Fairhaven cemetery Santa Ana. Thirty Barstow Woman's Club members drove to Newberry for their annual banquet hosted on the Sischo home porch. The evening included verse readings, songs, and jokes.
