Kiwanians and friends enjoyed a Hawaii travelogue at the Kiwanis Club with Uncle Remus E M Bonnell and Miriam Leilani. The program showcased Mololo steamship scenes, a Hawaiian island tour, flower displays, crater activity, and out at sea sand aboard a Matson liner. Leilani sang in Hawaiian English and Spanish on ukulele and even Chinese songs at requests, while Remus provided talk and songs. The meeting opened with prayer, songs, and guest introductions, with the meal-ticket drawing won by Miss Leilani. President Miller delayed the board meeting to a later date.

Langford near drowning as boat capsizes

Mrs. Joseph Houck died at her Crooks avenue home aged 69. She was mourned at a Mountain View cemetery burial in San Bernardino after funeral services. The Barstow resident moved there in 1913 with husband Joseph Houck a Santa Fe division foreman who retired in 1920. Squires, publisher of the Age, has converted his tri weekly to a morning daily and refused $26,000 cash from Blair Coan of Washington, D C.
