Mother of Hinkley rancher laid to rest
Martha Mary Seymour long time San Bernardino Valley resident died at 84 in her Highland avenue home. She helped spearhead the Soldiers Monument effort in Pioneer Park and was active in Woman's Relief Corps. Survived by two daughters Mrs Curtis of San Francisco and Mrs John Algeo of South Pasadena, and two sons Edward L. Seymour of Hinkley and George G. Seymour of Highland. Funeral at Mark B Shaw company chapel at 11 this morning with burial in Mountain View cemetery.

Mrs John Wheeler Laid To Rest In Bakersfield
Mrs John C Wheeler died at home from chronic uremic poisoning after a long illness. Born Myrtle Morton in Michigan on April 10 1879 she married John C Wheeler May 25 1900. The couple had three children Basiley and Robert surviving. Funeral held at Antler Club and interment in Bakersfield with Rev McRae officiating. Mrs Wheeler belonged to Congregational Church and Barstow Woman's Club. Mr Wheeler works as car inspector in Barstow yards.

Alfalfa shipments move from Hinkley district hay ranches
George Siemon shipped a carload of alfalfa hay from his Hinkley ranch this week. Two truck loads of alfalfa hay passed through town bound for Los Angeles market. This hay was being shipped from the McClean place in the Harper Lake district. The first cutting of alfalfa was also reported underway at the Seymour ranch in the Hinkley district. Judge Henderson returned home Monday night from a business trip to Los Angeles.
