Fireman Claude Tuffy Alford was arrested on a grand larceny charge by F. W. Mettler of Needles who collected evidence. Mettler says about 400 dollars worth of jewelry was stolen from his Needles room last December. Alford confessed and was jailed by Justice T. O. Carter.
