Scaffold collapse injures two carpenters after fall

Two carpenters were slightly injured on Friday when the scaffold they were working on broke, causing a thirty foot fall. Authorities reported no serious injuries and the incident is under investigation.

George Olson laid to rest

George Olson sixteen year old brother of Mrs WWG Crawford died at the Daggett Sanitarium after three weeks there and a year with Mr. and Mrs. Olson in Barstow under his sister’s legal care. He grew worse last month and passed away Thursday night burial is set for Barstow cemetery Friday at five oclock.

Union Pacific Official Makes Barstow Visit

B M Prescott travel service agent for Union Pacific called on local business firms in Barstow this week. He discussed the companys operation costs in Barstow yards and his share of local business. Prescott had recently visited Union Pacific offices in Los Angeles and viewed the new hotel and office there. A twenty mule team borax wagon display from Death Valley mines was shown, with the new Los Angeles office featuring road scene paintings.

Barstow Red Cross Seeks Flood Relief Donations

Barstow district has contributed 150.60 to the Mississippi valley flood relief and seeks 150.00 more. The Barstow Chapter of American Red Cross California reports 602999.75 sent to the relief committee. National HQ had estimated 10000.00 would suffice but the emergency now requires at least 15000000.
