Barstow residents are urged to clean premises to curb epidemics fire flies and mosquitoes. Gather rubbish in sacks or barrels and place on sidewalks for wagon pickup. Monday May 7 general cleanup day for all residents. Chloride of lime to be added to cesspools. DR ANDERSON Health Officer.
The Ladies of the Woman's Layprovement Club enjoyed a May day picnic at the home of Mrs. H. F. Speaker with 21 ladies present. A twelve mile trip over sandy roads was rewarded by a fine outing, aided by Mr Anuwine and Mr Amey. Miss Clara Richardson and her Chicago father visited H. Bb. Johnson.
Cartoonist J R Willis, creator of a motion picture comic series, will perform on the stage at the Opera House on Saturday and Sunday nights May 5th and 6th. He will explain how animated cartoons are made and will draw large comic characters for the audience.
Lee presents a sequence of his cartoons sold to Pathé Company used in making comedies. Mr Willis is assisted by Miss Pay Mills as artist model. No price increases announced.
