Barstow local baseball team travels to Yermo Sunday afternoon for a return game with Salt Lake tossers. First pitch is at 4. Fred Labouch will play with the locals and may appear on record. Barstow has wins over Las Vegas Needles twice Victorville and the switchmen, with losses to Needles San Bernardino and Yermo. The Barstow Grammar school presented Hiawatha in the Fletcher opera house Friday evening. Pupils dressed in Indian costumes won applause for ten scenes including a war dance and The Peace Pipe with music by the High school orchestra. The crowd left pleased with the performers and teachers for their effort.

Fletcher Picture Shows Closed for the Summer
The Fletcher picture screen will close for the summer after last Monday night’s performance ending Mrs. Fletcher’s contract with Farnum producers for Far num pictures. Farnum plans an eight month rest following his role in The Last of the Duanes. Mrs. Fletcher also rests and vacations moving from active management of the Inez hotel and Fletcher opera house to others. She may sell the opera house and live in Bakersfield or install two picture machines if she keeps it. She will depart on vacation next week with her sickly son Charley Egan.
