California mining fund grips Rand district Kelly mine planned
Nevadans take over the Kelly mine in San Bernardino County as California compensation insurance hurdles prompt calls for state fund reform. The piece notes high deposits, rising rates from 1931, and debates over small operators and leasers who struggle to obtain coverage while Nevada offers a cheaper surplus fund. It highlights ongoing operations, planned 1000 ton test, and other local mining activity including Yellow Aster, Bal tic, Minnehaha and King Solomon projects with several outfits preparing for milling and sampling.
