Santa Fe Train Plunges Over Embankment Near Domingo
Reports from Albuquerque say four men were killed and 19 passengers injured when Santa Fe train No. 9, the Navajo, plunged from a 30 foot embankment on a sharp curve a mile and a quarter west of Domingo New Mexico. Engineers J. J. Roberts and Walter W. Cruse of Las Vegas were killed along with fireman J. J. Blevins and Earl Hall. Other hospitalized victims include T. Vance of Santa Ana and Mrs. J. Russell Cunningham and Frank D. Dinon of Los Angeles.

Santa Fe lumber yards burn in San Bernardino blaze
Fire swept the Santa Fe railway lumber yards in San Bernardino last Saturday erasing about 400000 in losses. The yard held a million dollars in stock, said to be the largest on the railway coast lines. Colton and Redlands fire departments aided San Bernardino, while nearby Standard Oil moved bankers to safety by soaking their building to protect it.

Return from motor trip to Grand Canyon
Mrs Barney Robles and Miss Paul completed a three week Arizona sightseeing trip with a week at the Grand Canyon. They visited the Perified Forest Home of the Cliff Dwellers Lake Mormon and other wonders. Miss Paul hiked 15 miles from canyon rim to river and back in a day. She later left for Berkeley for summer school.

Motorcycle Contest Through Barstow Draws Ragged Finish
Last Sunday July 1 193? thirty six riders started from Los Angeles for an endurance run via Saugus Elizabeth Lake Mojave Barstow Victorville Bosco Big Bear to San Bernardino and back. Eighty eight cars started but only twenty six finished in Barstow. Rider No 7 led in on an Indian Scout after covering 874 miles in 17 hours 45 minutes. Riders called it an endurance test for the riders more than the machines as many were exhausted upon arrival in Barstow and still only mid trip.
