The Colonial party for Barstow Union High School seniors and juniors was a success with cherry blossom decor colonial costumes and a communal entertainment. Notable attendees included George Washington Lafayette and Aunt Jemima figures. Also noted were schedule changes for boys and girls teams and new athletic equipment arriving. President Wilson Returns from France to brief Congress

Washington says the Bureau of Internal Revenue has begun collecting a projected 6 billion dollars under the new revenue bill. The act taxes any single filer with net income of 1000 dollars or more and married filers with 2000 dollars or more. Fines range up to 1000 dollars for late filing, plus 26 percent added tax. or up to 10000 dollars or a year in prison for willful false filing. penalties up to 10000 dollars or a year for fraud with 50 percent of tax evaded added. late payment incurs up to 1000 dollars plus 5 percent of unpaid tax and 1 percent interest per month.
