Officers Raid Stills At Goldstone In Bootlegging Sweep
Deputy sheriffs from the district attorney’s office and constable Ed Pitcher conducted a raid at Goldstone on Saturday seizing fourteen barrels of mash two fifty gallon stills corks and bottles. A second raid Monday found two more stills and reports say Ben Redfields house burned that day during the operation.

Several top Santa Fe coast division moves announced this week. W. K. Etter is named to succeed I. L. Hibbard as general manager. J. A. Christie moves from Arizona division to Oakland to become division superintendent, with G. W. Lupton taking Christie's Arizona post. R. S. Goodrich becomes Needles trainmaster, replacing E. E. McCarty who shifts to Needles as assistant to C. G. Fluhr. Fluhr then succeeds Christie as Arizona division superintendent. Arthur Sugars transfers to Needles as trainmaster.

Barstow High School Notes and Basketball Report
Absentees return after illness as Barstow high school notes show solid progress. The boys basketball team visited Needles to contest Needles high school, while Altha was defeated 40 to 4 due to Needles height advantage. Team members at Needles included Fisher Martinez Riche Turner Chambers Fries. Seniors plan a March San Bernardino trip for class photos and the annual yearbook is being prepared for press.
