Miss Mary E Cook and her music class helped celebrate Miles Cook's 89th birthday with a Friday gathering and a Sunday ovation at Congregational church. Born January 27 1833 in Cincinnati Ohio he served in the 36th Iowa Infantry and fought in Helena Arkansas and at Vicksburg. A GA R member for 45 years he was a Methodist faithful since 61 years ago and lived in Iowa Kansas and California before settling near Barstow California for 44 years on a homestead at almost 83.

Floyd Marvin Attends Mother's Funeral in Los Angeles
Floyd Marvin returned from Los Angles Sunday after attending his mother's funeral. His wife and children came back Tuesday. The Antlers held their regular meeting last Monday. The dance committee announced plans for the St Valentine dance at the Grammar school auditorium next Tuesday. Many tickets sold and an Elks orchestra from San Bernardino is to fill the house.
