George Rott suffered serious injuries when his gloved hand was caught in a belt as he started a gas engine near his home west of town. His wife attempted to free him. help arrived from Harry Kelly and the switching crew. He was transported by train to a Los Angeles hospital. Mrs. Roth sustained a knee brace during the rescue.

Mrs Frank Marvin died at home Wednesday after pneumonia followed a cold. She was 61. Survived by husband Floyd and daughter Mrs R B Fleming of Los Angeles. They ran Marvin Grocery in Barstow, formerly deputy state commander for Lady Maccabees in Wisconsin and commander for Colorado Utah Wyoming. Body shipped to Los Angeles for cremation. services to be held there.
