Motorists can reach the Colorado River dam site via the Arrowhead Trail to Las Vegas then along the Searchlight Road for 20.1 miles. A turn eastward leads 11.5 miles to the river 2.5 miles above the dam. The touring bureau of the Automobile Club of Southern California notes a passenger boat runs between that point and the dam.
