George H. Clark aged 21 years 9 months died February 3 at San Bernardino county hospital after a tuberculosis illness. He attended Barstow High School and worked with his father in Hinkley district. Born in New Zealand he lived in California 19 years. Funeral services were held and burial was at Barstow cemetery. He is survived by his father John A. Clark two brothers Evan and Alexander of Hinkley and a sister Mrs Freeman of San Luis Obispo.

Tragedy in Home Near Hodge Claims a Child and Mother
Elgir Dell Mains, 12, died after a brief illness at her Hodge home. Her mother Myrtle Mains died next day. father and son were ill. Doctors suspected food poisoning possibly from canned fruit and home cured pickled pigs feet. The family resided on a Hodge district homestead. Elgir had attended local grammar school and would have graduated this June. The remains were buried in Barstow cemetery.
