Wind and water power eyed as France fuel fix
Paris dispatch December 25 reports E Colardeau at the Academy of Science presenting a water turbine on a kitchen faucet and a dynamo to charge batteries for home electric light. He proposes windmills in the countryside to pump water to tanks and drive turbines. A Geological Survey note adds that US rivers carry about 95 tons per square mile annually into the ocean, across a national area of 3 088 500 square miles.
