Nevada Pilot Range quicksilver mines described
The Geological Survey warns of Nevada quicksilver deposits in the Pilot Mountains near Mina. Production began in 1915 with high grade cinnabar ore often exceeding 10 percent. Main sources include Booth-Wardell mine in limestone with rich scarlet cinnabar, plus deposits in sandstone and chert. Low grade material exists but is not fully exploited.
