Miss Marie Millett, who ran a summer soft drink and light lunch stand across from the Daggett Inspection station, now offers meals in Milletts Boarding House dining room with her mother. Service runs to 10 PM with all you can eat for 50 cents. Chicken dinners Sundays and Spanish dinners Wednesdays in winter. A larger range, electric lights, and new interior paint upgrade the home of hospitality.
The Barstow region including Daggett and Yermo shows a rising mining payroll for 1927 prospects. Key operations include Copper Butte Syndicate and Consolidated Co at Calico, with Garrenger interests sold at Ord Mountain and W. E. Smith interests pending. Frank Millett formerly of Las Vegas has bought the Beacon Light Service Station opposite the State Inspection station in Daggett. He is aided by his wife and, within months, they have added a modern lunch room and plan further upgrades including a new campground.
