Safety depends on radio for ocean shipping
The salvage tug Widzeon sails toward the Pacific coast as radio stations receive orders from Washington. Additional stations, authorized after the Point Honda destroyer disaster, will let ships obtain positions by simultaneous cross bearings from two points, reducing reliance on a single station. Radio thus enhances navigation safeguards for ocean shipping.
