Engine Loses an Axle in Barstow Yard Accident
An unusual accident in Barstow railroad yard on a Monday morning left Engine 1374 derailed after its trailer axle broke in two places inside the wheels. Missing wagoner in desert frightens Daggett area
Daggett and Vicinity reports a 75 year old Long Beach man, C Willetts, hired a team from Turner Son Victorville to reach Stoddard s Well. He went to Daggett for supplies and vanished leaving a dead horse by the wagon. Special officers and Willetts son search with no signs as of Tuesday night. Several locals mention other residents and events in the area including a Harmony Circle hall dance and various travelers.
