Barstow hosts the Fifth Annual Sunday School Convention with 25 delegates traveling up to 86 miles each. Dr. Dowling led sermons and discussions on methods and spiritual aims while a temperance conference and Young People’s meeting complemented sessions. Shriners Confer Mystic Shrine on 65 Fresno Candidates
Nobles of Islam Temple San Francisco conferred the Mystic Shrine degree on 65 Fresno area candidates last Saturday with 600 San Francisco Shriners plus members from Los Angeles Bakersfield Barstow and other towns attending a large ceremonial session. A fine banquet followed. Dr. Anderson of Barstow attended and also briefly visited Berkeley to see his daughter Alma at the University of California. He reports excellent weather in San Francisco and vicinity.
