P. M. Longan buys seventy one acres adjoining his ranch on the Vilasia highway north of Tulare. The transaction secures additional land holdings for the local ranch enterprise and expands farming operations in the area.
M. T. Kerrigan, a newcomer to Tu lare, has purchased the C. W. Brown ranch east of that city, declared to be one of the best equipped and modern farms in the district. Cotton growing is to become a crop of importance in Yuba county, this spring, 10,000 acres already signed up, with most in the Erie district.
The frost caused little damage in Sonoma County. A few apricot and plum trees that had bloomed were harmed and may produce a small crop, but overall the impact will be negligible.

Plans call for a 1 250 000 dollar beet sugar factory with 800 tons daily capacity between Sacramento and Woodland, the first large plant of its kind in the valley. Construction to take one year, enabling thousands of acres to join beet production as 23 000 acres north and 18 000 south currently grow beets, with 700 000 adaptable within 50 miles.
