Maurice H. McCraw, former Craigvale resident and son of Mrs. McCraw, died in Toronto after a freight train incident near North Parkdale station. He was found with both legs severed, lying face down as the train moved from Parkdale to West Toronto yards. The last sighting had him signaling atop a refriger ator car in Parkdale yards before the 1.45 am departure.

Tragic Railroad Death Leaves Innisfil Family in Mourning
A Grand Trunk freight conductor named McCraw was fatally struck near the North Parkdale station as his body lay across the track with severed legs. He was 42, returned to Canada this summer after years in the Southern States, and had been with the Grand Trunk since June. Survived by his mother in Toronto and several brothers and sisters, the family recalls a previous brother killed in 1908 at Proton.

Scaffold Collapse Fractures Worker in Elizabet h Street Construction
A scaffold collapsed Monday afternoon during the erection of a new house for Wm. Dobson on Elizabeth Street. S. J. Mayzes of Francis Street was thrown over 10 feet, fracturing several ribs and sustaining a severe shakeup. Mayzes, a master bricklayer, was at the scene with assistant Alfred Moore. Dr. E. G. Turnbull attended and the injured man was returned to his home.

Fall Assizes Cost Simcoe County Taxpayers

Pet Coons Visit The Examiner Office In Windstorm
A pet coon and its owner J Yeates of Strathallan visited The Examiner office on Friday. The coon came from the tree blown down in June at Helmuths property, where three baby coons were found. Two died, the third survived under Yeates daughter’s care and now follows the family, eating meat fruit and corn.
