Half Century Celebration At Allandale Church
Anniversary services marked fifty years since Allandale Church founding held at Burton Ave Church Barrie. Rev W E Wilson of King St Method Church preached both services as Rev M Beach attended. A bank offering of 850 was requested and 1050 plus was received as the church was decoratively arranged for the jubilee with a 50 rose bouquet. Choir director F J D Norman led special music and ushers included John S Brunton and James Brunton.

Rifle matches with prizes and inter platoon shooting for a cup donated by an officer will be run by Major Whitby with Sergt Reader instructing shooters. Boxing instruction, a boxing tournament, an indoor baseball league with four platoon teams and a Headquarters team will be organized next week with committees named.

Mrs. Logue of Allandale Dies in North Bay at 72
Mrs. John Logue widow of a longtime engineer on the trunk line, died in North Bay on Wednesday at age 72 after a six week pneumonia illness. She came to North Bay 34 years ago from the Ottawa region, lived there with her daughter since her husband’s death, and was buried at St. Mary’s Cemetery beside her husband. She was widely esteemed and survived by multiple children including Mrs. Alice North Bay and Mrs. Logue of Kingston. funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Barrie.

Ford tour ing car overturns near Barrie injuring three women
A Dalston party of three ladies traveling from Barrie in a Ford touring car skidded into a ditch on the Penetanguishene Road about five pm. Mrs Wilson sustained a severe head wound needing stitches. Mrs Baldwin had minor cuts. Mrs Bell and another girl were uninjured. Gordon Thompson assisted to Barrie for medical care.

Fire damages town clerk residence in Barrie
Firefighters were called to the home of Town Clerk A. W. Smith at 144 Maple Ave Friday just before noon after a clothes room fire caused about 150 dollars in damage. The blaze was extinguished before the Barrie Fire Department arrived, damaging fur coats and winter garments.
