Born April 29 1832 in Oro East of Crown Hill he came to Barrie as a youth learned blacksmithing and served as town councillor school trustee and fireman. Surviving are sons William and Thomas F. of Barrie John of Oro and Miss Jane at home. brothers Joseph Caldwell of Vespra Miles Caldwell of Oakville and Mrs John Drury of Dalston. wife Jane Dunsmore predeceased him. Interment was at Union Cemetery with Rev. H D. Raymond officiating. six nephews served as pallbearers.

The Late F J Robinson once Deputy Minister of Public Works and Chairman of Saskatchewan Highways Commission died suddenly at the Queen's Hotel Toronto on Saturday evening from heart failure. W M Trombley of Belle Ewart appeared in police court Monday facing two charges. He claimed he lit the tail lamp three times, avoiding a conviction on the lamp charge.
