Fugitives from Macedonia and Adrianople report 8000 displaced seeking protection as aid remains inadequate. Men join insurgent efforts while women and children suffer starvation in villages and woods near the border. Four thousand women and children are said to be starving awaiting relief.
Belgrade Sept 22 news reports elections in Skuptaching yielded victories for the radicals. About 65 were elected to the Serving Assembly, with the Skuptsuh inn slated to meet in extraordinary session as the ministry resigns.
Willian A George long time Shreveport master mechanic for the Texan and Arkansas Railroad Co was shot and killed by a negro named Red Silver Steve in the machine shop after ongoing gang trouble. The attacker fled but was captured two days later and awaits murder charges. George is survived by his wife with no children and several relatives in the city.
In Baltimore Maryland an estimated 25 040 visitors crowd streets and buildings decorated for Odd Fellows festivities. A reception honored Grand Librate Gen M A Raney and Edward Rosmand of Maryland served as ceremonies minister in charge of the events.

Becon, wife of Joseph Bason, proprietor of the Repel House, pleaded guilty to adultery in Burlington county court. She was fined 200 dollars plus 48 dollars costs, with an alternate sentence of 000 days in a house of correction. Mrs. Bacon and a soldier, Tega Smith, were found living together. Smith had pleaded guilty weeks earlier and is serving two years in Windsor prison.

Northfield Sept 22 Norwich University will open for another year this evening at retreat. A number of men have registered and the class will number about 40. The other classes remain about the same. The freshman class is smaller due to stricter examinations. Entrance tests are tougher than normal but women will be included where qualified. Town boys entering include Edward Jones William Ryan Pierce Brown Edward Kathan.
A brief hearing before Chancellor Haselton in Montpelier court discussed H More & Co cross bill in the Granite Street injunction matter. The cross bill matters were referred to master J B Martin for findings, and the city of Montpelier was given ten days to file an answer.
A woman fell from a window on Court Street in Enormous Kuat Wall Seore, landing on a concrete sidewalk this forenoon. She was not injured beyond a bruised face and no broken bones were reported.
Alexander Cruickshank of Innes and Cruickshack granite manufacturers in Barre dies this morning after a short illness. He was about 34, born in Aberdeenshire. Survived by daughter Ina, mother, sister, and widow who died eight years ago. Funeral Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Presbyterian church. Rev. T H Mitchell to officiate.
Mrs. David R Benjamin a former Barre resident died Sunday at Dover New Hampshire. The body will be brought to Barre for interment with a funeral at the Universalist church tomorrow afternoon at 2 o clock. Mr and Mrs Benjamin were well known to older Barre citizens. They once lived near the City Hotel and later at Thuringe ville. A daughter married Dr Georgia Smith a Goddard graduate, and it was at his home in Dover where Mrs Benjamin died.
Members of the Vermont Automobile Club traveled today from Barre and other northern towns toward White River Junction for the group’s meetings. The route passed through Williamstown where dinner was at the Golf House, with the first meeting scheduled in White River Junction this evening. Dr. J Holmmoe Jackson, nephew of Mayor J. Henry Jackson, accompanied the party, with FD. Todd joining later.

After a short illness of six weeks Larry A Ys died yesterday in Montpelier at age 42. He had worked in the shops for several years and is survived by a father and two sisters. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 o clock in Montpelier.
