Auto Killed Deaf Man in Greenfield Mass
Walter F. Pierce, 17, of Bernardstown Road Greenfield, died after being struck by a car driven by George W. Roseman of Kwene. Pierce, born Morrisena N Y, had been deaf since childhood. He stopped his wagon to retrieve apples when hit on Federal Street. He died at Franklin County Hospital after surgery. He leaves a wife and seven children, plus siblings and a sister. The driver blew his horn and swerved to avoid him.
