In Dalton Massachusetts last night intruders burglarized United States Senator W Murray Crane's home stealing silverware valued over $1000. Many items were wedding gifts for the Cranes recently married. The robbers likely entered during the day and left without waking the occupants or servants. no clues found this morning.
Fire swept through the four floors of the Bunker Hill Laundry building at 14 Dunstable street Charlestown late last night. The blaze caused $26,000 in losses, with $25,000 for machinery and stock and $10,000 for the building. No one injured as workers evacuated via the front stairs while engineers and a supervisor rescued three hysterical girls from the roof and lowered them to safety.

Franklin New Hampshire October 2 William Roberts a Northfield farmer faced a wild buck in a wood lot near his home. The deer charged the horse throwing Roberts from the wagon. Roberts struck with an axe smashing the buck s antler and later a swing blinded the animal s eye before it fled into the woods. Local reports note prior complaints of the deer s savage behavior.
Judge Wendall P. Stafford of the District of Columbia Supreme Court is named professor of the chair of equity at George Washington University.
