Gren A Burbank died suddenly at home after a supper. He was born May 14 1843 in Norwich and spent much of life in Royalton. Survived by four children, longtime deacon of local church, funeral set for Sunday in Royalton with services and interment in the village cemetery.

Myrtle G Onto daughter of Mr and Mrs Cole of 147 North Main died at eight last night after a 12 day illness with typhoidal malaria. Survived by parents two brothers Harry of Chel com and Clayton of this city and one sister Mrs Lutie Edwards of . Funeral arrangements not completed.
A severely mutilated male body was discovered on the Central Vermont track near Montpelier's grocery shop yard. The victim, possibly an Italian granite cutter, wore checked trousers and carried $28 in bills and 79 cents in change. Witnesses speculated death may have resulted from being struck by a train or a mishap at dawn.
Ernest Rayno a 1 year old boy was arrested on a theft warrant and pleaded guilty before Judge Scott. The judge suspended the sentence to allow his father a chance to place him away from the city. If placement succeeds probation may be granted and the boy could be sent to reform school. The thefts involved a water from Auguste Charotte and hiring a man from A Giachino. The boy's father was accepted as bail at $100. Also Deputy Sheriff George Morrinwood arrested Joseph Lapoint for intoxication and he pleaded guilty. He faced a $5 fine plus $8.60 costs or 20 days jail. he paid the fine and was discharged.
An effort to merge the Montpelier board of trade and the Merchants' association is favored after an informal discussion. At a Merchants' association meeting held Wednesday evening, the proposition received support and consolidation is believed to be imminent.
The Ladies of the Universalist Union voted Thursday afternoon to hold meetings on November 12 and 13 with details to follow. A man taken into custody by Chief Faulkner was declared insane by Dr. Doty and sent to Waterbury asylum. The party to Stowe featured members including Frederick W. Pex wyed Merrill Russell and others, with after meetings and dancing into the night.
