Credible private advices from Mexico City report that federals at Topilejo eighteen miles south of the capital were attacked yesterday by Zapatistas. The report says the assault does not show an agreement for a joint move on Mexico City. It may force Huerta to reinforce the south at the expense of the north toward Vera Cruz.

Ten Men Dead and Others Hurt in Detroit Plant Explosion
Detroit May 15 Ten men were killed and three injured when an explosion ripped through the Mexican Crude Rubber plant. About 25 workers were on site with three survivors accounted for. Bullet Fired Into Sleeping Car On Central Vermont Train
Highgate Springs May 15 an unknown party fired a shot into the Pullman sleeper Maintenon on southbound train No 6 over the Central Vermont railroad at 11 10 last night south of the Highgate station. The bullet pierced the window and struck the opposite side of the car then was poked up by a trainman. No injuries reported and officers are investigating. Conductor J A Conner and engineer B Brown were on board.

Workman Fell as Old Lime Kiln Bridge Collapses
Burlington May 15. Francis Martin, working on the remaining span of the old Lime Kiln bridge, was knocked into the Wi Nooski River when the structure gave way. He escaped with a bruise on a shoulder after four upright timbers were left standing. A heavy piece weakened the center and broke free. Martin reached shore on a raft guided by Sydney Deforge, who was nearby lifting timber. No bridge remains. the 1844 structure has been replaced by a concrete crossing.

Andrew Getchell, longtime leader of the Getchell drum corps of Calais, died at 75 after gangrene and leg amputation.
