Alexander Adams, 63, a section hand in the Barre yards of the Montpelier and Well River railroad, was seriously injured when locomotive No. 4 the Granite City struck him while he cleared a switch amid blowing wind. He suffered a possible leg fracture and bruises, was treated at the scene, then moved home and later to a hospital.
Washington county sisters gather next Friday March 17 in Montpelier city hall memorial room to discuss statute changes and receive instructions from Tax Commissioner Charles A. Plumley. Other items include creditors meeting notices for Fayette T. Cutler estate and several local moves involving Barre Nashaw and Montpelier residents.
The Abnaki Camp boys held their tenth annual reunion banquet in the vestry of the Congregational church in Harrelton. About 100 boys, led by Byron N. Clark, arranged nine tables with camp decor and flags, while dignitaries from Spaulding high, local churches, and the Vermont Y M C A attended. Speeches honored camp spirit and Marling Miller Memorial Cup was announced, followed by songs and a devotional gathering.
The city board approved a slate of 25 mayoral appointments including William Wishart as city attorney and Frank O. Lee as water superintendent and city engineer. George N.
