John Forbes a longtime Barre granite cutter and employee of Bareau Bros died at 26 Merchant Street after a protracted illness. Born in Aberdeenshire Scotland October 31 1865 he came to America as a youth and has lived in Barre and East Barre for 39 years. He leaves a wife three sons a daughter a sister and three brothers. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 o'clock at his home with Rev. Ragar Crossland officiating and interment at Hope cemetery.
In Depot Square near the gas company office two men, Peter Hendrickson and Andrew Kopela, were arrested after a chase and jailed on intoxication charges. They pleaded not guilty at city court with a $60 bail set for security. Hearings scheduled for March 15 in Magistrate H W Scott's court.
