Lawrence Kubal a 26 year old farm laborer has confessed to the brutal murder of Mrs Minnie S Bartlett at West Hampstead New York. Police declare Kubal admitted striking with a chisel after the widow refused to give $500.
Lawrence Kubal, 26, a farm laborer, confessed to the murder of Mrs. Minnie S. Bartlett, a wealthy widow, in her West Hempstead home. He was charged after police announced the confession stating he killed her with a chisel on a visit to buy the property, claiming she refused to give him $500.
Dedham Massachusetts June 23 Niccola Fiutti testified he did not see Sacco or Bartolomeo Vanzetti in the automobile from which the murderers of a paymaster and his guard fled at South Braintree last year. Gatti a defense witness described the driver and passengers and noted they looked different from Sacco and Vanzetti.
Everett Murne ch orked near the Moon area when a staging gave way causing him to fall and suffer a broken left shoulder and dislocated collar bone. Burlington, June 25. Joseph Auld founder and longtime principal owner of the Burlington Daily News died after years of poor health. Born May 24, 1848 in Prince Edward Island, he built a career in Boston Rutland and Burlington, shaping several papers and helping end Vermont Prohibition before starting The Burlington Daily News in 1894. Survived by widow Marguerite and son George Percival, who serves as accountant general of the Allied Reparations Commission in Geneva.
