Thirteen people were killed and about twenty injured when an excursion train to Stenooh near Glaggow struck buffers at high speed at Stenooh station. The engine and two carriages were wrecked, several bodies severely mutilated, and a whole family among the dead.
Four men were killed and about 26 passengers injured in a head on collision yesterday near St Paul. The Chicago Great Western line linked a Twin City limited with a fast freight. Engineers Morkert and Holman, Firemen Coger and Pred Norton died, while a man named Horton died in the vestibule of the front sleeper. One friend escaped injury.

Henry Chamberlain a Central Vermont Railway veteran conductor died this morning of uric acid poisoning after taking over the run of Conductor Sweeney who died Friday. Chamberlain served 50 years and had recently retired. He was widely known across Vermont and remembered for aiding travelers in need and his generous nature.
Vermont officials announced a special transport for Vermonters to San Francisco on the tenth. The train will leave Saturday with five tourist sleepers a smoker and a baggage car for the party. Details on White River Junction and other stations will be released later.
The body of John Sicholeon who died Saturday after a fall is to be taken to Lingwick Quebec for burial. He leaves W McDonald brother-in-law J Fu Buchanan and Kenneth Buchanan to lead the remains. The funeral will be tomorrow with widespread relatives and several sisters. The deceased, a carpenter by trade, was last living in Lingwick after moving from Baraton six weeks ago.
Miss Gladys P. Sanders, of Barre, is appointed teacher of penmanship and typewriting at Montpelier Seminary succeeding Miss Lilla M. Taham who resigned. A Montpelier Journal note claims Sanders is the most rapid and expert stenographer the institution has had, with experience in court reporting and as a stenographer for M. G. Nichols.
A Barre editor argues for a public bath house citing lack of bath facilities in the city. A barber says it does not pay to run such a place, while the editor notes many smaller cities have baths and residents lack private facilities. The river water is dirty and unsafe for bathing.

Arthur Darveaux of Montpellar was found guilty and charged in a Montpelier court session today. He received a sentence of three months and six days in the Hatland house of correction.additional names include White, Fenner, Lamphere, Atherton, Withiam, Bailey, and Theriault as participants or the defense.
Funeral services for the late Mia Loutee Watson who died in Reading Mwun were conducted at 4 PM Saturday from the home of her cousins Misses Weat on North Main Street. Rev J Kedward Wright officiated with pallbearers Albert P Doe Charles C Varney Albert Johannen and George Beckley. Interment followed at Elmwood Cemetery.
Three arrests were made by the police on Saturday night involving Micheal Tiley Giosure Commat and Robert Raney. Tiley and Raney pleaded guilty this morning to intoxication and were fined with costs. they chose ten days in jail instead of paying. Commmath paid $19.34. A bar meeting is scheduled for Tuesday at 7:20 PM.
The No. 16 Ishjuels Tribe of Red Men held their yearly picnic and games at Caledonia Park with wives and children present. A grand pavilion dance featured Wilbun Burne on violin and J. P. Lawler leading concerts. A spirited ball game ended 11 to 9 with the single men prevailing. Races crowned Lorine Loranger and Margaret Sila among winners, as committees and organizers including Alfred Aoe and W. W. Bavnell oversaw arrangements.
The annual employees picnic at Fairmount Park drew about 100 families from Hughes & Alexander. An active program included athletic contests, dancing, driving and golf events, plus a football match won 4 to 0. Winners included George Pipe and Mary Alexander, with committee members named. A late gale forced a hasty retreat but participants planned a speedy return.
