Hartford July 25 William F Walker who embezzled about 505000 from the Savings Bank of New Britain and 56000 from the Connecticut Baptist Convention reached the city in detectives custody. He said he would plead guilty when arraigned and claimed sole responsibility for the crime. He was taken from Mexico after absconding from New Britain in 1907. He had little money and no lawyer, and said he would make a full statement to the prosecuting officer when arraigned.

David M Minard died suddenly at his home 72 South Main street last evening at 12 18 due to heart failure. A Barre resident and former blacksmith, he was born in West Topsham in April 18 years ago and later lived in Orange and Barre Town. He enlisted in June 1862 from Orange county, served in Capt Wittant J Henderson's Company G 9th Vermont, and belonged to K B Crandall Post G A R. Funeral services will be held at his home Sunday at 10 am with interment in West Topsham cemetery.
