Mrs. Herbert M. Sears, Boston society figure and St. Regis guest, was found dead on a roof adjoining the hotel after a night of unknown circumstances. John Gordon Martin age 22, a popular Williamstown resident, died after a falling tree crushed him while he worked for Mr Hurlbut at PG Hurlbut's farm.
