Paris reports Friedrich Ebert and his cabinet resigned after revolutionary unrest in Bers inn. Ebert, named interior minister in Nov and imperial chancellor, faced violent clashes as soldiers and workers councils in Berlin threatened, with leaders of the Independent Socialists attacking the premier.
Zurich reports serious disorders in Danzig West Prussia with civil and military prisons opened and inmates freed. Street fighting is reported as authorities scramble to restore order.
Reports from Basel note the soldiers and workers council of Berlin and suburbs plans to resign, possibly replaced by an executive committee chosen by the empire's workers councils to elect a German president. Copenhagen reports a conference of former empire states to select the president.

Eastman, a member of the Massachusetts Public Service Commission, was a Republican appointed by former Governor Walsh, a Democrat. Anderson recently became a federal court judge in Boston.
Alfred Becker deputy attorney general of New York testified before the Senate judiciary committee on German propaganda finances. The hearing focused on expenditures of German agents and the banks used to transfer funds, revealing the financial side of propaganda operations in the United States.
New York amid reports from Bordeaux Mrs Vincent Astor recounts American women in France aiding soldiers through canteen and welfare work. She notes dances meals and comfort provided to thousands of sailors and Marines, with volunteers distributing candy cigarettes and cigarettes to wounded troops near St Mihiel.

Washington December 1 investigation into Hog Island shipyard resumed before the Senate commerce committee with Charles Plex of the Emergency Fleet Corporation and Charles M Behwab as lead witnesses. Plex said total expenditures reached about 120 million dollars and that the American International Shipbuilding Corporation had not been paid. Most work was done by sub-contractors.

Striking GE workers in Schenectady New York staged an orderly walkout at 10:02 am numbering about 16 000 of 23 000 employees affected tied to the Electrical Manufacturing Industry Labor Federation allied with strikes at Pittsfield Mass Erie Pa and Fort Wayne Ind The walkout followed a wider federation action amid wartime production pressures and linked to Erie and Pittsfield protests.
George Greenslit testified he shot in self defense after Heath rushed him at his Warren farm. Deputy Lawson and John Motus backed the confrontation at the hole in the wall and the wood theft dispute. Heath died days later from peritoneal infection after being moved to hospital.

Parents Mr and Mrs Moses Cerasoli of TL pastry artest report the nature of his injuries is unknown and relatives believe his condition is not serious. Cerasoli, a veteran of the old 1st Vermont infantry, served over a year overseas with A Company of the 1st machine gun battalion.
John G Norton of Montpelive learned his nephew Ralph Norton Dawes was killed in a troop train wreck in France on December 5. Dawes, 30, bandmaster of the 4th Infantry, had served in France and earned the Croix de Guerre. His mother died in Boston the same day. He was a native of Feld Mass.
Hert Sanders a granite polisher died from gas asphyxiation in his third floor Barre apartment. Police say his wife left him yesterday. friends note he was low in spirits. Holmes found him early morning, two gas jets open. No autopsy planned. funeral set for Saturday at Green Mount cemetery, Montpelier.
The Winooski Valley Superintendents Association met at the Spankling building in Barre with Supt C H White. State Education Commissioner M B Hillegas spoke on a Senate bill creating a cabinet department of education with 100 million dollars yearly, to be allocated to states on a dollar for dollar basis. Attendees included Supts H W Reed Martin Chaffee S C Hutchinson and G J Seager along with other members.
Bonazzi and Bonazzi of Montpelier claim their funds at the First National Bank of Montpelier have not been attached in the suit by Gopher Granite Co. They say the ordered work was not shipped due to union mediation and that they informed Gopher the work would ship once the union dispute was resolved before being misled. Also notes Vermont customs clerks promotions and transfers including Winfield W. Stiles, Gale, and Cameron Gale at Island Pond Swanton and Alanks Depot.
Striking cotton workers in Manchester England plan to resume work after a mass meeting. They agreed to return at one o clock under terms granting about a thirty percent wage increase over their previous pay. Also reported Northfield veteran Winslow Blanchard, age 61, died yesterday. He served in Company I 1st Vermont Infantry.
