King Emperor and Queen Empress arrive from Hamay amid hue and formal ceremony. Viceroy and provincial officials greet them on an elaborately adorned platform as Indian princes and officers join a multi regimental parade marking the cordial reception.
Timothy Burns, 46, of 3 North Street Milford, was fatally crushed at Norarows quarry in Hayden Rowe when a stone he and two derrick men were handling shifted. He died at Milford Hospital about 3 15 after being brought there by ambulance. Burns leaves a wife and several children. funeral expected at St Mary's Church Friday.
About 1560 Harvard and Radcliffe students clashed outside Brattle hall in Cambridge on December 7. Minor injuries reported as a chaotic campus scene drew in attendees and faculty.

Executives of the Vermont State Bankers Association met in Montpelier to choose a time and place for the third annual convention and plan the program. Present were H Harrington A G Raton H Le Ward C F Lowe F Chapman S Webster and P R Dickerman. The group unanimously approved Montpelier as host city with February 22 1072 as the meeting date. Prominent speakers from elsewhere will attend and officer elections will occur.
A deadly blaze at the Maric apartment house on Sixteenth Street near Spruce killed Samuel Balfour, his wife, and their nine year old daughter. The family sought the adjoining roof but were overcome by smoke and perished. Balfour managed Wentworth's five and ten cent store in Paterson.
Brattleboro reports William Moore about 43 the carpenter on the Austin institution building sustained a brain concussion and possible skull fracture after an incident the man has a wife and six children and had been living in town briefly. Springfield notes H H Mairhard elected to Springfield Electric Railway board to fill a vacancy with Crosby Coolidge Crobsby Brown and Crosby as directors and Crosby as president. Marshfield sees Rosie M Bouldry and Hiram J Dierting wed by Rev H Chapin with the groom a rural mail carrier.
At the Barnconnail No 401 Knights of Columbus meeting officers were chosen for the year. Grand knight John Leary and deputies, with Martin Riley Jr and J M Neteson in key posts, were elected. The Ladies Catholic Benevolent Association also elected officers led by President Mrs Murrows and Mra O Leary as vice presidents. A refreshment break followed the session.

The Good Shepherd women's guild held a two night Christmas sale in Howland hall crowded beyond seating. An operetta Flower Nympha Surprise entertained with musical numbers and readings led by Miss Maculle arn. Decorated booths sold gift items while a supper served from 4 to 7 pm.
In Windsor county court yesterday Tuije A A Wall filed a suit over damages claiming misrepresented actions by William A Mandigo and others. The plaintiff, a man living on a Norwich area farm with his minor daughter, alleges enticement and abandonment. Trial expected as defendants fail to appear.
Judge Miles admonished several juvenile offenders after pleas of guilty to uttering forged instruments and grand larceny. Arthur Frechette and Thomas Camry, both sixteen, received Vermont Industrial School terms. Arthur Tangraid, eighteen, was returned to the House of Correction for over three years. John Dine, alias Charles Aweeney, got a two month light sentence. Two divorces granted: Adeline Moore and George Moore. Oliver H Jenness and Blies Jenness.
Funeral services were held for Jamun Steenbange after a Crowns Gorge accident on Jofferson Street. The service at the family home was led by clergyman Kein Nav of the Universalist church with Joseph Greene and others in attendance. Burial followed in the cemetery per the obituary notice from The Times.
In St Johnsbury a fire at daybreak destroyed stock and barns on the J D Gould farm. About sixty head of livestock were lost with only a few cattle spared. Firefighters and neighbors saved some structures but the home and outbuildings were burned. Loss estimated at three to four thousand dollars.
A large barn at the rear of Dr A B Beller's residence in Ruthind was burned last night. Two people were burned and Elias Webb narrowly escaped in his night clothes. Fire investigators cite defective wiring in the hay loft as the likely cause. Estimated loss runs about $2,000 with $2,000 insurance.
W C Colton, president of the Montpelier Board of Trade, will attend the Barre Board of Trade gathering tonight at the Manufacturers' Association rooms. The event features musical numbers and refreshments, and members are urged to attend to hear Colton speak.
In a forenoon report Chief Ainchair arrested two unknowns who were held at the police station. They face intoxication charges in city court with Loredidge Scott involved. A second man was seen near the band stand before officers drafted a team and took Lieman to custody.
