Rev Davison Returns From World Baptist Congress in London

Reverend Davison attended the World's Baptist Congress in London, with Vermont State convention involvement. He toured ships and visited York, arriving by steamer to join delegates and observe a gathering of about seven million attendees with over 600 regular delegates. SANK IN HARBOR NEAR BLOCK ISLAND DURING HARBOR TRIP

A steamer carrying about 100 passengers struck a sunken wreck while testing in Providencia harbor. The vessel sank to the main deck as it neared the island, but most passengers escaped via the gang plank. Fire was extinguished before reaching the dock. Three Men Held in Fraud Case Involving Vendhongo Villa

In White River on August 16 the court bound Frank and Fred White over in 25 dollar bonds and Angelo White in 5000 for a single count. The three escaped but were later captured in Keene and brought back. Two were lashed with a ragor but recovered.

Train Conductor Fined After Crossing Incident at Fixsex Junction

Left train on crossing caused street closure. Deputy Sheriff JaH fi Alien arrested conductor Joseph on August 18 for closing a street to allow the train to pass. He paid a fine and small costs. Sheriff Allen held two other conductors and two engineers for questioning.

No Freedom for Marsh in Brockton Court

George Marsh, a crippled suspect, was arraigned in Brockton Massachusetts on murder charges in the William Bate case from Chicago last November. He pleaded not guilty and was held without bail for a hearing next month, amid claims of innocence and an asserted alibi.
