County Court met last Monday in Zebu lon with Judge E F Dupree presiding and Col S N Woodward as solicitor. Verdicts in four trials saw J L Connell acquitted on mortgage case and R D Hunt found guilty of cheating and swindling with $25 fine plus costs or eight months. Josh Lee convicted for stabbing with $50 fine or ten months. J Minner Brown acquitted for cruelty to animals and Prince Bowden case of mortgage disposition quashed. Obie Nelson Charley Collins Green Mabry and Ulyses Warren await hearing on gaming charge at next Superior court term.
Deputy Marshal Carswell tracked a nighttime gambling game in the Swatts building basement and Green Mabry’s barber shop. Obe Nelson Charlie Collins Green Mabry and Ulysses Warren were arrested and face indictment at the March term before Judge Dupree.
