Miss Janie Gardner Dies at Liberty Hill
Miss Janie Gardner died last Saturday night at her father J M Gardner's home in Liberty Hill from fever after a three week illness. Eighteen-year-old Gardner was beloved in the community and sister to Mrs S C Charping of Barnesville. Rev Rolfe Hunt preached the funeral sermon, which was largely attended, and Undertaker Smith laid her to rest in Liberty Hill Cemetery. The community extends sympathy to the bereaved family.

Langford Captured and jailed in Pike County Arkansas
Tom Langford, captured by Ozan Arkansas town marshal and a farmer, is jailed in Zebulon after a long patrol by Sheriff J H Milner and Deputy Sullivan. Langford says he left Mississippi after the murder of Sheriff Gwyn and later worked in Texas and Mississippi before going to his aunt’s near Ozan. He claims Delk killed Sheriff Gwyn and shot Madden but offers no links to Taylor Delk yet. A speedy trial may be set by Judge Beck with strict guarding.

It promises to be one of Barnesville’s handsomest homes. Miss Mittie Perry and Miss Roberta Mitchell are ill with fever. Mrs. R. A. Thrower wed Mr. John Cheek at Piedmont. Dr. Will F. Connally is sick with bilious fever at his mother’s Forsyth street home.
