Passing Away Among Confederate Veterans in Community
During memorial exercises Maj. Hunt stated two old Confederates had died this week. the fact is three have died since last Friday. The fallen veterans are described as passing away after a long fight, hoped to die triumphant in the faith and rest in the shade of trees in the eternal kingdom.

Death of J. J. Mays A Barnesville Citizen
J. J. Mays, a well known Barnesville citizen, died Friday morning at Dr. J. L. Fogg's home after a period of declining health. He was about sixty, leaving many friends and family. Funeral services were held at Dr. Fogg’s residence, conducted by Dr. J. M. Brittain, with interment in the Jenkins family burial ground by Undertaker Summers.

Pioneer Citizen Thomas R. Reviere Dies At 68
Thomas R. Reviere a leading resident of the area died last Saturday in his 69th year after a gradual decline. Surrounded by family and friends he passed peacefully. Funeral rites were led by Rev. W. S. Stevens and interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery by Undertaker Summers.

Death of John S. Knott in the City
John S. Knott died Monday morning in the city after a sudden illness. A war veteran and pensioner he had suffered partial paralysis in recent years and was about sixty. His body was taken to Rocky Springs, Butts county for interment with funeral services held there led by Rev. Rolfe Hunt.
