Muriel Hutchinson, a Barnard College senior, earned a stage role in Mrs. Mreduction after a long training in wigs and cues and studying at Barnard. She recalls meeting Blanche Yurka, receiving letters to stock company managers, and a backstage elevator encounter with Shubert offices that led to a Shubert theatre opportunity. Hutchinson aims to live up to the standards set by Aline McMahon and others as she prepares for the role.
