Mysteries Show Delights Barnard College Crowd
A detailed account praises the 1926 Mysteries performances at Barnard with two clever skits. The first spoofed Dr Alsop and Miss Wayman while featuring a timid Freshman meeting her Junior sister and Mrs Davis, Miss Meyer, and Dr Griffin in succession. The second skit reimagines The Society for the Removal of Those Who Were Better Dead against 1927 with a love subplot as an executioner falls for his victim before 1927 is drowned. The close includes candlelit ceremony in the gym, the Mysteries book presented from 1926 to 1927, and a chorus of Beside the Waters of the Hudson.
