Realignment discussed at Vassar conference screens student apathy

A Barnard delegate proposed realigning American politics into Conservative and Progressive lines and the unanimous vote backed it, but the discussion at the Vassar political conference largely mirrored existing two party debates and failed to address the core issue driving the campaign. The piece laments the apathetic college student attitude and calls for clearer thinking and action from college representatives.

Firebrand review blends Florentine romance and humor

The Firebrand shifts tone through three acts and settings blending high and low comedy with poetry and burlesque. Schildkraut brings delicate wit though lacks the deeper human fire, while Frank Morgan as the Duke and Eden Gray as Angela add memorable touches amid elaborate but ungrand settings and costumes.

Curricular Discussion At Student Council Meeting

The Student Council discussed curricular matters on Thursday October 16. A petition from freshmen requesting a re vote on smoking in the studies was refused after it was announced at the Freshman Class meeting and on the hall blackboard. The Curricular Committee reported on interviews with foreign students and ongoing proposals including a Group System and expanded Honors work. Posters limits were set to one per organization to prevent crowding in Milbank. A Greek Games book project was discussed with alumnae suggesting hiring a graduate to oversee and produce a lasting memorial.

Student Vote Challenged Over Residency affidavit

A clause in the election law states that merely residing as a student does not establish legal residency. An independent act, such as submitting an affidavit of change of residence, is required. Blank affidavit forms are available at Miss Weeks' office in Student Hall. Sign before a notary if you qualify to vote and will be here next year.
